Alpha Phi Omega
About Our Chapter
Founded in 1925 by former Boy Scouts, Alpha Phi Omega promotes leadership, friendship, and service by offering a variety of opportunities for members and students. Our chapter Alpha Gamma Pi was established in 1991, becoming the only coed fraternity open to everyone on the University of Maine at Farmington campus. We are a part of an international community with over 600 chapters and proudly serve our community, our country, and the world.

Leadership
Each member is presented the opportunity to partake in a leadership role at our fraternity, from running for the Executive Board to leading a service trip or fellowship. We instill this value to help our members succeed in both academic and work environments.
Service
Based on the values of the Scouts of America, our fraternity dedicates itself to acts of service in the community. Each member must volunteer 15 hours each semester with at least 10 hours within the activities organized by our Service Vice President. Past events have included car washes, Free Rice, and trick-or-treating through the halls.
Friendship
To promote community in our chapter, we hold several fellowships, organized by our Fellowship Vice President. Our members are required to attend two fellowships per semester. It is a priority for us to make sure everyone in our chapter feels welcome, comfortable, and included.
